Message Yes aluminum will dissapate heat faster, but the fact remains that the very hard carbon steel inserts on a aluminum flywheel build heat quicker on the surface of the insert which can cause premature clutch wear. #1 enemy of a clutch is heat.

When using a harsh material like ceramic pucks you need the hard surface so the clutch material won't trash the mating surface..

RPS's segmented is a good design to help with warpage but the inerts still warp, just not as bad. They still build heat on the surface. Anytime you bolt steel to aluminum and heat and cool it it's going to warp beacause the 2 expand and contract at different temps.

A solid steel stock fly will absorb the heat quicker than any aluminum/steel inserted fly and the heat will not build on the surface.

Given the same use, any clutch will last much longer and work better with a stock fly.
